Keysight M9132A PXI SPST Switch
Keysight’s M9132A is a reed relay switch module used in PXI-based automated test systems. This is a 50-channel single-pole single-throw (form A) reed relay module. Each channel can be switched at up to 100 VRMS and 1 ampere and has a maximum power dissipation of 25 watts. Therefore, this switch module is ideal for providing power to devices being tested, driving an external solenoid or other actuators, and actuating power relays. The reed relays have a typical closure time of 350 micro seconds and allow for fast test sequencing when many on/off cycles are required within each second. The initial resistance across the contacts will be less than 500 milliohms, so signal quality will be preserved for those sensitive measurement applications. A bandwidth of 5 megahertz will accommodate DC and low-frequency AC signals. The module's connectivity is provided by means of a high-density 200-pin Low Profile Header (LPH) connector. This allows for easier cabling arrangements and reduced clutter in the test rack. By using a single PXI slot for the 50 independent channels contained in the M9132A, there is minimal chassis slot usage. As such, compact and lower-cost switch subsystem designs are possible.
The M9132A is used in industrial automation and functional testing for switching power supplies, routing sensor signals, and building switch matrixes and is PXI-1 compliant and can operate in a hybrid PXIe chassis through the J1 connection. It supports LabVIEW, C#, and MATLAB (via Keysight IVI-C and IVI-COM) and has an onboard soft-front panel that allows users to quickly manually switch I/O ports. There are many example code snippets available to help users shorten their development time. The IO Libraries Suite also makes it easy by showing you all your installed PXI modules from a single viewpoint. Common applications of the M9132A include testing of automotive ECUs during production testing, endurance cycling of electromechanical components, and routing low-frequency signals to digitizers and digital multimeters. This device has 50 low-resistance reed relay channels, which allows for large-scale test systems using a small amount of real estate and minimizing cabling. Because each slot contains 50 separate channels, fewer switch modules may be needed to complete your system, thus reducing the total cost of ownership as well as the physical size of your system.
