Keysight/Agilent M9135A PXI SPST Power Relay
The Keysight M9135A is a 20-channel PXI Power Relay Module designed for reliable switching of inductive and capacitive loads in industrial automation and high-power automated test systems. Every one of the 20 channels of the M9135A has an armature relay rated at a maximum of 300 W DC or 1250 W AC as a Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) Form A relay with a maximum continuous carry current of 5 A. With these specifications the M9135A can energize large solenoids, turn ON/OFF AC or DC power supplies, and activate external power relays inside validation racks that require dense, high-reliability routing of high-energy signals.
The front panel connections on the M9135A use a 20-pin MS-M connector and an optional cable block to provide easy integration into production fixtures and PXI chassis. The typical switching time of the M9135A is approximately 10 ms, and the average path resistance from each channel is about 35 milliohms. This provides almost zero voltage drop during load transitions. In addition, the M9135A will maintain strong channel-to-channel and channel-to-ground isolation over varying temperature and humidity conditions, providing a safe method for controlling elevated voltages up to 250 Vrms or 125 Vdc in demanding factory-floor environments.
Programming control of the M9135A is made possible through IVI-COM, IVI-C, and LabVIEW drivers to allow environments such as MATLAB, C, C++, and Visual Studio to be used. The Soft Front Panel for the M9135A also allows users to manually toggle relays on/off immediately after opening the program without writing any code. Included code examples are provided to reduce the development cycle time for automated test sequences.
The M9135A is a single-slot PXI module with a J1 connector that meets both PXI and cPCI hybrid slot standards, therefore allowing it to easily integrate with other modules such as digitizers, multimeters, and signal generators in a single chassis. Applications for the M9135A include aerospace, automotive, medical device testing, and semiconductor testing, where its ability to switch large loads reduces cabling requirements, decreases system footprint, and increases precision and density of control in high-powered measurement setups.
