National Instruments AT-FBUS Foundation Fieldbus Device

The AT-FBUS is a Foundation Fieldbus Device manufactured by National Instruments. The NI AT-FBUS is constructed with part number 777281-01. The AT-FBUS is linked with the NI-FBUS software package. This device has a transformer-isolated fieldbus connection. The NI AT-FBUS is compatible with Windows 2000/NT/XP. The NI AT-FBUS is a removable interfacing device that is used to communicate between the network-configurable device and a personal computer. The network-configurable device is related to Foundation Fieldbus H1 protocols. The 16-bit ISA slot is used in PCs for communication purposes. The AT-FBUS is designed in a way that it can provide shared memory options. The NI AT-FBUS is built for a transfer rate up to 31.25 Kb/s associated with H1 specifications.

There are two types of AT-FBUS devices based on the number of ports. The AT-FBUS contains only one port for communication. The Fieldbus Device fabricated with two ports is represented as AT-FBUS/2. The NI AT-FBUS is equipped with a DB-9 male D-SUB input/output connector. Each pin is associated with one Fieldbus link. This device utilizes an Intel 80386EX microprocessor for the fieldbus communications software. The fieldbus interface chip is a Yamaha YTZ420.
