Part Number 778289-01 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments BNC-2121 Terminal Block. This module enables connectivity to a NI 660x counter device and allows testing of its functions and features. To get started with installing and using the module, you will need a 68-position cable, BNC cables, wires no larger than 24 AWG, and wire strippers. 

The 778289-01 measures (10.69 x 4.41 x 2.05 in.) in physical dimensions. The 68-pin male SCSI-II type I/O connector in the module is used to connect to a NI 660x counter device. In addition, it also features 14 BNC connectors and 72 screw terminal plugs for signal connectivity. Out of the 14 BNC connectors, 8 of them are used specifically for PFI lines 32 to 39 whereas the remaining 8 are used for user-defined field connections. Likewise, it features 2 spring terminals to connect the quadrature encoder having a resolution of 24 pulses per revolution and an output signal of pulse width of 1µs.

Similarly, there is a single position for the spring terminal to connect a trigger signal which is used for initiating and synchronizing measurements. Furthermore, the function generator present in the module is used to generate TTL-compatible square waves with frequencies ranging from 10 Hz to 1 MHz and with a rise time and fall time of 250 ns and 50 ns respectively. Furthermore, the module also features 8 LED status indicators for each of the digital I/O lines.

The 778289-01 draws 200 mA of current, sourced by the NI 660x, at 5 VDC (±5%). Likewise, the power available at the 5V(±5%) screw terminals is 600 mA, also sourced from the same device. The recommended temperature range for the operation of the 778289-01 is 0 °C to 50 °C at a relative humidity of up to 10% to 90% RH. Likewise, it can be stored at –20 °C to 70 °C.
