# National Instruments 779002-01 C Series Digital Input Module
The National Instruments 779002-01 (NI-9421) is a screw-terminal digital input module designed to interface with industrial switches, sensors, and transducers operating at 24 V logic levels. The module is compatible with National Instruments CompactDAQ and CompactRIO platforms and provides eight sinking digital input channels. Each channel monitors the voltage or current applied to its input terminal rather than supplying power to the connected device. With an update time of up to 100 µs, the NI-9421 is well suited for applications requiring fast and consistent signal monitoring, including real-time machine and process automation. Each input channel also features an LED indicator that shows the current input state, making it easier for technicians to identify wiring or signal problems during system installation, testing, and maintenance.
The 779002-01 provides 250 Vrms of channel-to-earth isolation, helping protect connected equipment from electrical faults and differences in ground potential.
