National Instruments 779006-01 C Series Relay Output Module
National Instruments 779006-01 (NI-9481) is a four-channel C Series electromechanical relay output module. It can be installed in any NI CompactDAQ or CompactRIO chassis. The Relay Output Module has four single-pole single-throw (SPST) Form A relays, which allow you to switch high-power industrial loads such as motors, actuators, etc., from your computer. Each of the four channels of the 779006-01 relay outputs are capable of controlling signals to 250 VAC at 2 amps, 30 VDC at 2 amps, or 60 VDC at 1 amp. Additionally, each channel is isolated by 250 Vrms from the other channels to prevent voltage transients and improve system reliability in harsh environments.
The 779006-01 was designed for extreme industrial use and therefore can operate from -40°C to 70°C, allowing for hot-swapping to reduce downtime in a system. There are LEDs provided for each relay channel to give you instant visual feedback when checking your relay's status for troubleshooting and/or system monitoring. The relay channels have a max switching rate of once every second and a mechanical cycle count of 20M under load-free conditions. They also provide a low on-state resistance of 50 mOhms and a max off-state leakage of 10 uAmps for efficiency and reliability in critical control loop applications.
The 779006-01 is a fundamental component for most automated test, measurement & control systems due to its C Series standardized connector, which allows it to integrate into many different NI platforms. The module uses a removable, detachable 10-terminal screw-terminal connector for easy and safe field wiring. In addition, the part operates at a max of 580 milliwatts when active, so it is very power efficient for embedded applications.
