National Instruments 779014-01 C Series Voltage Input Module
NI 779014-01 (NI-9221) is a National Instruments' C Series voltage input module that is designed specifically for acquiring single-ended analog signals in compact RIO and compact DAQ systems. Each of the 8 single-ended analog input channels can be used to measure the voltage of a signal over a very large range (-60V to +60V), has a resolution of 12 bits, and can acquire up to 800 ksps. Due to its extended voltage range, NI 779014-01 will be ideal for measuring signals in high-stress applications like industrial process monitoring, automotive testing, and small cell battery testing. The chassis is completely enclosed in a nonconformal coating and uses a screw terminal interface in order to directly wire and protect the signal from unwanted noise. The channel-to-earth ground isolation rating of 250 Vrms provides additional protection against voltage spikes in the event that there is a failure in the system.
Engineers will use NI 779014-01 when they have a need for reliable measurements of AC voltages over large dynamic ranges but do not require differential measurements. In addition to being isolated, each channel also cannot simultaneously sample; instead, engineers will have to sequentially scan each channel in order to obtain a reading, which is typically sufficient for slowly changing measurements of various types of sensor arrays, power distribution panels, and vehicle electrical systems. This module will make installation easier in control cabinet and test bench applications by providing a simple screw terminal connection method that eliminates the need for special cable connections.
The NI 779014-01 module is compatible with all C series chassis that provide one or more of either analog or digital modules and supports many scalable measurement configurations for laboratory, manufacturing line, and mobile test platforms. As well as being compatible with most development environment tools, including LabVIEW and NI's DAQmx driver software, the NI 779014-01 module provides a convenient way for engineers to develop their own monitoring, data logging, and automated test applications.
