National Instruments 779011-01 C Series Voltage Input Module
The National Instruments 779011-01 is a four-channel NI-9215 differential analog input (DAI) measurement module that measures differential voltages with high accuracy in a wide variety of automotive, test & measurement, laboratory and industrial settings. It is based on NI’s C-Series Platform, which allows it to sample signals from DC (-10V) to AC (+/- 10V) with resolutions of 16 bits. It samples signals at rates of up to 100 kSamples/second per channel. It is housed in a rugged, enclosed case. The AI module has been calibrated by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), thus providing reliable measurements over time. The Double Isolation Barrier is electrically isolated from Earth ground and provides isolation between each channel and connected equipment. This prevents noise from entering the system and also provides safe operation even when common mode voltages are elevated. Users can select whether they want their 779011-01 module wired via a 10-position screw terminal or BNC connector depending on preference.
Since the 779011-01 module is part of NI's C Series family, users may integrate it into custom data acquisition systems using either NI's CompactDAQ chassis or CompactRIO chassis. Each system is specifically designed around the user's sensor requirements. As there are over fifty measurement modules available in NI's C-Series family for measuring temperature, pressure, strain, current variables, etc., the user may add additional modules to create synchronized multi-measurement systems. Once integrated into a CompactRIO chassis, the 779011-01 module will connect directly to the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) located inside the chassis, allowing the user to configure programmable filtering, triggering, and signal processing for each channel to meet the demands of their application.
Users that utilize the NI 779011-01 include Industrial Automation Engineers working in fields such as embedded control systems, standalone data logging applications and laboratory-based testing applications that depend heavily on reliable and precise voltage acquisitions. Due to its small size and ability to perform internal signal conditioning, users do not need to install separate interface hardware prior to utilizing this module. As a result, users can quickly deploy the module into their existing systems without having to spend excessive amounts of money on additional interface hardware and wiring.
