The National Instruments NI-9478 (Part Numbers: 779940-01 and 779940-02) C Series Digital Module is a 16-channel, 50 μs module that is supported in all CompactDAQ and CompactRIO systems. There are two part numbers for this module with the same specifications. The only difference is part number 779940-02 has conformal coating, while part number 779940-01 does not. The NI 9478 has current limits that the user can program for added system protection, making the module well-suited for solenoid and valve control applications. Depending on how the channels are configured, the NI 9478 module has the capacity to sink up to 16 A of current per module. The digital I/O logic levels of this module are 12V, 24V, 48V.
