National Instruments 781496-01 CompactDAQ Ethernet Chassis

The part number 781496-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the cDAQ-9181 CompactDAQ Ethernet Chassis. This chassis has a single slot that can support I/O modules, and controllers belonging to NI's Compact series. This module supports a single RJ-45 Ethernet port and supports an Ethernet speed of up to 10 to 100 Mbps. It supports the TCP/IP, and UDP network protocols and has 6 High-performance data streams along with a Default MTU size of 1500 bytes. The chassis also includes LED indicators that provide status on the Ethernet network and the general state of the module or controller connected to this chassis. 

This chassis has an Analog input FIFO size of 127 samples with a timing accuracy of 50 ppm of sample rate which is determined by the C series module connected in the slot. The 781496-01also features 4 32-bit timers or counters that help provide the module connected with clock signals or help with time-related measurements such as pulse width measurements, waveform period measurements, etc. It also has a frequency generator with base clock frequencies of 20 MHz, 10 MHz, and 100 kHz.

The chassis can be mounted on a DIN rail, or it can be kept on a desktop. This chassis also supports an optional NI 9903 panel mount kit as well as the NI 9913 DIN rail kit allowing the chassis to be mounted easily in an industrial environment. 

To power the 781496-01 chassis, it requires an input voltage of 9 VDC to 30 VDC. The module should be kept in an environment with a temperature between 0 degrees Celsius and 55 degrees Celsius to avoid overheating as it does not feature a cooling fan or a cooling unit. The chassis has an Ingress protection rating of IP 30 which protects wires and tools with a size greater than 2.5 millimeters but does not protect liquid.
