National Instruments 783832-02 CompactRIO Controller

Part Number 783832-02 from National Instruments is the version of the cRIO-9065 dual-core controller that is conformal coated. This integrated, dual-core controller contains 4 slots for simple configurations in various testing applications. The conformal coating of the 783832-02 offers enhanced protections to both the board and it’s components by adding a thin polymeric layer that prevents corrosion and environmental damage. This coating conforms to the shape of the controller, increasing it’s operational life by shielding any exposed components.

The 783832-02 controller supports the NI Linux Real-Time operating system, and is secured by screw terminal wiring. This wiring accommodates a range of 24 AWG to 14 AWG copper conductor wires- with each screw terminal holding one wire that is secured by screw flanges. 

The voltage input range required to power the 783832-02 ranges between 9 V DC and 30 V DC. To ensure safety and prevent damage, the reverse-voltage protection is capped at 30 V DC. When the controller is fully operating with a C Series module in each of the four slots, the power input reaches a maximum of 18 watts. 

The 783832-02 also includes a convenient Status LED, which visually signifies different operational states with specific blinking patterns. Depending on the amount of times the Status LED blinks and then pauses, the 783832-02 is either in safe mode, is installing software, is not booted into NI Linux Real-Time, is not booting at all, or is in run mode. 

The USB ports on this system (a standard B and A connector that support a max data rate of 480 Mb/s) facilitate connectivity for various devices and allow for quick data transmission- making them suitable for a wide range of applications that require reliable and fast USB connections.
