Hardware processing is accelerated by an onboard Xilinx Spartan-6 LX25 FPGA configured for high-speed triggering, sensor synchronization, custom timing logic, and real-time I/O control. The FPGA hardware block integrates 15,032 6-input LUTs, 30,064 flip-flops, 38 DSP48A1 slices, and 52 block RAM modules totaling 936 Kbits of embedded memory. Network and camera connectivity includes three Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000BASE-T via RJ45), two of which feature Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality compliant with IEEE 802.3af standards. Each PoE port delivers up to 15.4 W (power classes 0 through 3) to directly power connected GigE Vision cameras without requiring external cabling or power injectors.
Peripherals and system expansion are supported via two USB 2.0 Hi-Speed ports (480 Mbit/s, sharing up to 1 A current output), a VGA display output supporting resolutions up to 1920 × 1200 at 60 Hz for local operator interfaces, and a software-configurable RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 serial port (RJ50 connector) operating at baud rates up to 115.2 kbps. Powered by a 12 VDC to 24 VDC primary power supply (24 W maximum power draw), the unit includes a separate 5 VDC to 24 VDC isolated power output to shield external sensor and trigger circuitry from power line noise. Weighing 933 g and measuring 10.8 cm × 6.1 cm × 13.0 cm, the CVS-1458RT provides a compact, ruggedized solution for embedded vision, automated inspection, and motion control environments.
