National Instruments PCIe-6341 Multifunction DAQ Device
National Instrument's PCIe-6341 (Part Number: 781046-01, 194986E-03L) is a multifunction data acquisition (DAQ) device that is intended to provide high-performance functionality for a range of industrial automation applications. To provide dependable performance, it makes use of the high-throughput PCI Express bus as well as multicore-optimized application and driver software.
With 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog input channels with 16-bit resolution and a maximum sample rate of 500 kSamples/s per channel, this device provides a variety of analog and digital I/O possibilities. The analogue input portion has a narrow signal bandwidth of 1.2 MHz, high input impedance, and overvoltage protection. For analog output, the PCIe-6341 provides 2 channels with 16-bit resolution and a maximum update rate of 900 kSamples/s for single-channel operation.
Having a settling time of 6 µs and a slew rate of 15 V/µs, it can generate waveforms in both periodic and non-periodic modes. The device has 24 channels available for digital input/output (I/O); 8 of those channels are for static digital I/O, and the remaining 16 are for programmable function interface (PFI). It has input voltage protection, pull-down resistors, and programmable direction control. The PCIe-6341 also has four 32-bit counters/timers that can measure edge counting, pulse width, and quadrature encoding, among other things.
The enhanced timing functionality and retriggerable measurement tasks offered by NI-STC3 timing and synchronization technology are features of these counters. Applications including data logging, test automation, and control systems are good fits for this device. Custom measurement systems and control algorithms are simple to design using NI-DAQmx driver support and user-friendly graphical programming software. Applications demanding deterministic operation benefit greatly from the low-latency PCI Express bus, which guarantees effective single-point I/O performance.
