Keysight 34461A Digital Multimeter
The Keysight 34461A is a 6.5-digit Truevolt digital multimeter (DMM) utilized in the creation of accurate electrical measurements in industrial automation, R&D, and quality assurance applications. It is the latest generation following the 34401A model with added new graphical analysis, speedy data acquisition, and better accuracy in resolving complex problems in measurements.
The 34461A with Keysight's Truevolt technology minimizes errors caused by environmental noise, input bias current and signal instability and provides stable measurements in dynamic electrical conditions. Its metrology-grade architecture incorporates a 35 ppm base DC voltage accuracy and 1 µA current range with picoampere resolution and is suitable for the accurate characterization of low-power devices and sensitive circuits. The 4.3” color graphical interface allows real-time visualization through trend charts, histograms, and analog bar meters with no need for external software.
The 34461A multimeter allows multiple function measurement of DC/AC voltage (to 1,000 V), DC/AC current (to 10 A), 2- and 4-wire resistance (to 1 GΩ), frequency (to 300 kHz), capacitance (1 nF to 100 µF), and temperature (RTD and thermocouples). Auto-cal will automatically compensate for temperature drift to allow accuracy from 0°C to 55°C. One-thousand readings-per-second high-speed sampling and 10,000-reading memory allow high-speed data logging and transient capture for use in debug and analysis of intermittent problems or when tracking the performance of a running system over extended periods of time.
Software integration with BenchVue software allows easy control and synchronization of multiple instruments remotely through the use of USB, LXI, or available GPIB interfaces. Test sequences may be automated and sent to Excel or MATLAB for exporting and viewing multiple DMM measurements in real-time. Flexible system integration is facilitated through rear-panel terminals and ISO/IEC 17025 compliant specifications with traceability for calibration-critical use. The 34461A is utilized for control system verification, sensor calibration, and tight tolerance in manufacturing by industrial automation engineers. Ruggedized to ensure reliability in harsh conditions with a 3,000-meter altitude rating and pollution degree 2 compliance, it allows feedback on the action to take in order to optimize electrical circuits and guarantee operating efficiency through low-latency triggering and programmable math functions (min/max, std dev, limit test).
