National Instruments 779975-01 Data Acquisition Device
The part number 779975-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the USB-6509 Data Acquisition Device. This digital I/O device features 96 bidirectional I/O lines which allow it to automate and control industrial modules and devices as well as acquire data from them for storing or processing them for various applications. The digital I/O lines are TTL/CMOS-compatible which can be used for both input and output allowing the module to control and monitor at the same time.
Each I/O line is equipped with a 100 kΩ pull-up/pull-down resistor that the users can adjust using a back-panel switch to make sure the signals are at a proper level. The device supports a maximum voltage of 5.0 V for digital inputs, can source or sink up to 24 mA per line, and can provide a current limit of up to 100 mA per line. The 779975-01 features a Watchdog Timer safety feature which sets the outputs to a user-defined state in the case of software communication error or any power loss, making the entire system reliable and safe in the case of a failure.
This module has safeguard features against ESD events, overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent conditions. To eliminate glitches in the input data, the 779975-01 has an onboard digital filter making this feature useful in noisy environments as it helps reduce false signal detection or minimize the impact of transient signals. In addition, this part also has a Change Detection feature that generates interrupts when a change is detected in the input lines of the module making it efficient for event-driven applications notifying the user through the NI-DAQmx 8.7 or later software that a change has occurred.
To power the 779975-01 data acquisition device, you will need a 12-volt DC supply. This module can also be powered using a USB module and supports both Hi-Speed and full-speed USB 2.0.
