The Keysight U2723A USB Modular Source Measure Unit is a three-channel, compact-sized instrument for accurate voltage and current sourcing and measurement in either benchtop or portable applications. It may be operated as a standalone instrument or inserted into the U2781A modular chassis for larger system configurations. Four-quadrant operation (±20 V, ±120 mA) enables the U2723A to source and sink positive and negative voltages to facilitate applications such as leakage current measurement, solar cell measurement, and IV curve tracing of transistors. 100 pA resolution and 0.1% basic accuracy give detailed analysis of low-voltage and low-current signals.
The U2723A stands out with on-board test scripting, which enables users to prestore and recall up to 200 commands per channel for immediate test automation without the need for external programming. This feature removes drudgery from tasks like parametric testing or multi-step measurement sequences. Ease of use is also facilitated with Keysight BenchVue software integration, which provides graphical control, real-time visualization of all three channels, and IV curve plotting from a PC. BenchVue's drag-and-drop environment delivers immediate creation of series or parallel channel set-ups, voltage/current ranges, and data logging to programs such as Excel.
With its SCPI command and IVI-COM driver compatibility, the U2723A easily connects to Keysight Development Environments for customized automation. Dual-play capability offers a switch between standalone and modular control via Hi-Speed USB 2.0. Isolated channels of the instrument (60 VDC isolation) minimize ground loops, essential for accurate measurements. Together with the U2941A Parametric Test Fixture, it offers semiconductor testing for up to DIP ICs with the benefit of socket modules and low-leakage contacts.
Having a compact footprint (105 mm × 175 mm × 50 mm sans bumpers) and low weight (650 g), the U2723A achieves a compromise between laboratory-grade performance and portability. It operates from 0°C to 50°C and complies with IEC/EN 60068-2 shock and vibration requirements.
