National Instruments 778070-06 Analog Voltage Output Module

Part Number 778070-06  is the identifying part number for the National Instruments FP-AO-V10 Analog Voltage Output Module. The module is a part of the FieldPoint modules and is developed for the FP terminal blocks. The terminal blocks allow proper field wiring connections with screw and spring terminals and act as universal terminals for FP I/O systems. The 778070-06 features 2 single-ended outputs having a resolution of 12 bits. The output impedance is 10 Ω while the output drive at voltage outputs and the maximum load at current outputs are 10 mA and 500 Ω respectively. 

The 778070-06 has an output voltage range of 0-10 V with a resolution of 2.4 mV. Likewise, the accuracy at 25 °C is 0.06% while the temperature drift (sum of offset and gain per °C) is 250 µV + 100 ppm. The module has a scan time of 1.5 ms. The analog module has a maximum power requirement of 1100 mW and weighs 2.1 oz. Likewise, the recommended operating temperature range for the voltage module is –20 to +70 °C while it can be stored at a much wider range of –40 to +100 °C. 

When using the 778070-06 with Fieldpoint terminal blocks, such as the FP-TB-10, the user must be aware of some safety measures. First, the isolation of the FP-TB-10 and the dual channel modules is from input to output, which means there is no isolation between channels on the same module. Therefore, if any of the channels are wired at hazardous potential, all other connected circuits and devices must be properly insulated from human contact. 

Similarly, the external supply voltages must not be shared with other devices unless they are properly isolated from human contact. Furthermore, when mounting the terminal bases, make sure it prevents accidental or unauthorized access to wiring with hazardous voltages. Moreover, since the isolation is certified for normal operating voltages of 250 Vrms, it should not be used as the sole isolating barrier between human contact and working voltages of over 250 Vrms.
