National Instruments 785170-01 4-Channel FlexRIO Digitizer

The National Instruments 785170-01 (PXIe-5764) is a high-performance PXI FlexRIO Digitizer designed for demanding applications requiring wide dynamic range and precise signal acquisition. This device features four channels that can simultaneously sample at 1 GS/s with 16 bit resolution. The digitizer offers an analog input bandwidth of 400 MHz that ensures accurate capture of high frequency signals while maintaining a signal to noise ratio (SNR) of up to 70 dB.

One of the key features of the 785170-01 is its reconfigurable Xilinx Kintex UltraScale FPGA, which enables users to implement custom algorithms and perform real time signal processing directly on the hardware. This FPGA is available in three configurations (KU035, KU040, and KU060), offering varying levels of logic resources, DSP slices and embedded block RAM. The device also includes 4 GB of onboard DRAM, available in the KU040 and KU060 configurations, which supports high speed data processing with a maximum theoretical data rate of 17 GB/s. 

The digital I/O on the 785170-01 includes 8 single ended channels with direction control per channel that support voltage families from 1.2 V to 3.3 V. These channels offer an input impedance of 100 kΩ and an output impedance of 50 Ω along with a maximum output toggle rate of 60 MHz under nominal conditions. The device features four multi gigabit transceiver (MGT) channels, both transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx), with data rates ranging from 500 Mb/s to 16.375 Gb/s. These high speed channels are ideal for applications involving high speed serial communication or data transfer.

The NI 785170-01 provides four single ended, simultaneously sampled channels with an input impedance of 50 Ω. The device supports both AC and DC coupling along with a full scale input range of 2.05 Vpp for AC coupled inputs and 2.00 Vpp for DC coupled inputs. The digitizer utilizes a 16-bit ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) to ensure high resolution signal capture. The 785170-01 digitizer also supports external clocking with an SMA connector and can operate with sample clock inputs ranging from 0.3 Vpp to 4 Vpp. The device operates within a PCI Express Gen-3 x8 interface. The module is designed to operate reliably under various environmental conditions, including a temperature range of 0°C to 55°C and relative humidity up to 90 %.
