National Instruments PCI-1405 Image Acquisition Board
The PCI-1405 (Part Number: 778838-01) Image Acquisition Board supports a variety of analog cameras, obtains pictures in real time, and can save these pictures in the onboard frame memory. This Image Acquisition Device also has the capability of transporting pictures straight to the system memory. This device is simple to configure, enabling the user to start obtaining images swiftly. The NI PCI-1405 comes with the NI Vision Acquisition Software, the NI Vision Builder (which is used to develop applications for use in LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio), Vision Development Module, and includes NI-IMAQ. NI-IMAQ is the National Instruments driver software which can be utilized to control the PCI-1405. With NI-IMAQ, the user can initiate applications effortlessly since programming the device at the register level is not required.
The IMAQ PCI-1405 can obtain images from monochrome or color cameras. This Frame Grabber has enhanced image processing throughput, including partial image attainment with programmable region of interest. The user also has the option to configure the size of the image with MAX or by utilizing the ROI tools in the NI-IMAQ driver software.
The NI PCI-1405 is best for industrial and scientific environments because of the precision color analog video decoder. Since this Image Acquisition Board supports NI-IMAQ, this means it also supports NI-DAQ, as well as many types of National Instruments DAQ products. Therefore, the PCI-1405 can be integrated with certain DAQ models. High-performing servo motion control and stepper models can be utilized with pattern matching software for inspection and guidance applications. The device is equipped with 2 BNC front panel connectors.
The PCI-1405 utilizes three independent onboard direct memory access (DMA) controllers, which transport information from the onboard SDRAM memory buffers to the PCI bus. The DMA controllers support scatter-gather DMA, enabling the controller to reconfigure easily. Consequently, the PCI-1405 can transport images to connected or disjointed memory buffers. The NI PCI-1405 Image Acquisition Board also has several ways to begin acquisitions: frame/field selection, trigger control, and software control. The acquisition can be initiated by the user in the format of their choice.
