The NI USB-6281 (Part Numbers: 780054-01, 780054-07, 780053-04, 780053-01, 780054-04) is a Multifunction I/O Device by National Instruments. This instrument provides low-cost data acquisition capabilities and reliable operations in a wide range of applications. This device works for simple applications in laboratory automation and research, design verification, and manufacturing test. This device works with SCC and SCXI signal conditioning modules. The NI USB 6281 has 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog input channels. These channels provide 18-bits ADC resolution. The sample rate for a single channel is 625 kS/s maximum. The sample rate for multiple channels is 500 kS/s maximum. This module provides protection in the overvoltage condition. This protection covers all sense and analog input channels. The value of the overvoltage protection is ±25 V when the device is on or ±15 V when the device is off. This overvoltage protection is for up to eight AI pins. The input current is ±25 mA maximum/AI pin during the overvoltage condition. The input bias current value of this product is ±100 pA.

The NI DAQ USB 6281 has two analog output channels. These channels provide 16-bits DAC resolution. One output channel offers an update rate of 2.86 MS/s maximum. Both output channels collectively offer an update rate of 2.00 MS/s per channel maximum. The NI USB-6281 M Series DAQ also offers a timing accuracy of 50 ppm.
