National Instruments PS-16 Industrial Power Supply
The NI PS-16 (Part Number: 781094-01) is an industrial grade Power Supply designed to power any NI Smart Camera, NI touch panel, NI CompactDAQ, NI CompactRIO, or NI Compact FieldPoint System. Moreover, this Power Supply can also be used for powering heavy accessory loads, such as DC motor drives. This model is built to provide 24 to 28 VDC output voltage, 20 A output current, and 480 W output power.
The National Instruments PS-16 can be operated over universal input voltage ranges from 90 VAC to 132 VAC and from 180 VAC to 264 VAC. The combination of a wide range and auto select input voltages eliminates the risk of human error. This Power Supply can operate within a temperature range of -25 to 70 °C without losing efficiency.
In its standard configuration, the PS-16 can be used with DIN-rail mounting clips. However, National Instruments offers optional accessories for side, wall, and panel mounting if the user would like to reduce installation depth. The mounting bracket can easily be coupled with the side mount kit to achieve a low-profile DIN-rail installation.
While operating in typical conditions, the PS-16 can run at up to 91.6% efficiency. The provision of auto-select input makes the Power Supply`s installation quite simple because the unit will sense and select the right voltage level automatically. The NI PS-16 Industrial Power Supply also reserves anywhere from 20 to 50 percent of its output power. This additional current can be utilized continuously for ambient temperatures below 45 degrees Celsius.
The NI device weighs 700 g, and measures 60 x 124 x 117 mm in physical dimensions. It has a recommended storage temperature range of –40 to +85 °C, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5 to 95%. The PS-16 is designed to comply with the following electrical safety standards: IEC/EN 60950-1 and UL 508.
