National Instruments PCIe-6348 Multifunction I/O Device
The NI PCIe-6348 multifunction I/O device is a PCI Express data acquisition interface for systems. It is engineered for precise signal acquisition with high channel synchronization accuracy in systems. The I/O device provides 16 simultaneous analog input channels with 16-bit resolution for precision measurement tasks. The maximum sample rate reaches 500 kS per second per channel during acquisition operations reliably.
The analog input absolute accuracy is specified at 3225 microvolts for calibrated measurement performance assurance. The PCIe-6348 uses analog input FIFO buffer that supports 4095 samples for continuous streaming without data loss risk. The supply voltage range supports programmable input spans from +/-1 V levels configurable. The range extends up to +/-10 V for higher amplitude signals in setups. The bandwidth increases to 2.9 MHz at other voltage ranges for enhanced frequency response performance.
The noise immunity is 60 Hz with a common mode rejection ratio of 80 dB. When the device is off protection is ensured at +/- 15 V. The maximum input current in the case of overvoltage is restricted to +/ - 6.3 mA channel. The NI PCIe-6348 I/O device can update dynamic synthesis of analog outputs at a maximum rate of 900 kS per second. The device offers 48 digital I/O channels to give flexibilities in the design of automation systems. Any I/O signal can be interfaced securely using a one 68 pin VHDCI connector.
The PCIe-6348 device functions with DMA, scatter gather and programmed I/O data transfers. The direct memory access operation allows high throughput streaming with low processor overhead when using intensive workloads in systems. The FIFO buffering design provides constant acquisition at a constant sampling rate without interrupting and overflowing circumstances. It has 4 counters and timers which is used to perform accurate timing functions in integration of measurement systems.
The PCI express bus connector provides stability in communication with the host system interface in high speed. The enclosed form factoring safeguards internal circuitry throughout installation and function within the industrial setting and in a dependable fashion. The NI PCIe-6348 multifunction device has non-isolated analog input channels to preserve signal fidelity in precision measurement applications accuracy.
