The National Instruments 781261-02 (PXIe-5673E) is a high-performance 6.6 GHz RF vector signal generator engineered for complex modulation, wideband signal synthesis, and automated RF testing in industrial environments. Spanning a frequency range from 85 MHz to 6.6 GHz, the module features a 3 dB double-sideband modulation bandwidth exceeding 100 MHz. It provides exceptional dynamic performance with a typical noise density of -144 dBm/Hz and a compression-to-noise dynamic range of 156 dB, allowing accurate synthesis of modern digital communication signals.

The generator delivers exceptional spectral purity and low phase noise across its entire operating spectrum. At a 10 kHz offset, single-sideband phase noise typically measures below -111 dBc/Hz at 100 MHz and stays below -84 dBc/Hz at 6.6 GHz. Harmonic distortion remains strictly controlled, maintaining ratings better than -23 dBc (-30 dBc typical from 100 MHz to 250 MHz; -28 dBc typical from 3.3 GHz to 6.6 GHz). Sideband image suppression ranges between -41 dBc and -48 dBc across operating bands for modulation bandwidths up to 20 MHz.

Equipped with flexible output capabilities, the PXIe-5673E delivers RF power from the noise floor up to +10 dBm with an amplitude settling time under 10 ms (within 0.5 dB typical). Output level accuracy is maintained within ±0.75 dB at room temperature (23°C) and ±1.0 dB across the full 0°C to 55°C operating range. Built-in pulse modulation supports fast rise and fall times under 5 ns (10% to 90%) at pulse repetition rates up to 50 MHz. Weighing 1,458 g and rated for operation at altitudes up to 2,000 meters, the 781261-02 offers a reliable, high-speed solution for demanding RF test setups.
