National Instruments 779200-01 PXI Filler Panel
Part Number 779200-01 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments PXI Filler Panel Kit. It is typically used with the PXI-1044 to improve cooling performance in empty or unused slots. Likewise, it also prevents contaminants from entering those unused slots. This device consists of 9 filler panels, where 7 of them cover a single slot, and a double-width and a quadruple-width panel covers 2 and 4 adjacent slots respectively.
To install the 779200-01, first, you must remove the captive screw covers and then secure the mounting screws to the chassis. The user must ensure that the torque does not exceed 2.5 in-lb when tightening the screw. For detailed instructions, you must consult the official installation guide from NI.
The 779200-01, like the other NI PXI EMC filler panels, exhibits the following characteristics:
- Increases shielding across the front panel of the chassis, especially when all the panels installed in the chassis are IEEE 1101.10 compliant EMC panels
- Meets IEEE specification 11101.10 Due to the EMC gasket, they can be installed in every slot of the PXI chassis with minimal interference.
In addition to the 779200-01, NI offers several other filler panels. For example: part number 778993-01 is designed for 4- and 6-slot chassis, part number 778679-01 is for 3 double-slot and 3 single-slot panels, and this part covers 17 slots. Keep in mind that the chassis should be in the “OFF” state when the panels are being installed.
