The National Instruments 780316-01 is an embedded PXI-8250 system monitor designed to continuously monitor the health and operating condition of compatible PXI chassis systems. It is intended for use with National Instruments PXI-1042, PXI-1042Q, and PXI-1045 chassis and functions as a centralized monitoring solution for critical system parameters, including power supply voltages, chassis temperature, and cooling fan operation. The 780316-01 provides front-panel LED indicators for reporting chassis health and abnormal operating conditions. It also includes an integrated alert relay that can be configured to provide a hardware-based alarm when monitored parameters exceed their specified limits. This capability is particularly useful for safety interlocks, external notification systems, and high-reliability automated test applications because alerts can be generated independently of software-based communication.
