National Instruments PXI-1000 Chassis

The PXI-1000 is an 8-Slot PXI Mainframe Chassis from National Instruments. This Chassis combines a high-performance backplane with a robust, power supply and a flexible structural design. The PXI-1000 has been optimized to be used in a broad range of applications. The modular design offers the optimum level of maintainability. Thus, the user can anticipate an exceedingly low MTTR (mean time to repair). This Chassis is designed to comply with the PXI Specs Rev 1.0 and offers advanced synchronization and timing features.

As far as its key features are concerned, the NI PXI-1000 offers 300 W of usable power, it is built in a compact 3U-sized design, and the user can operate the Chassis through a universal AC input since it offers auto frequency and auto-voltage ranging. In addition, the PXI-1000 comes equipped with a modular, removable power supply with 90,000 hours MTBF. For easy access, the On/Off (standby) switch is provided on the front panel.

This Chassis is compatible with Compact PCI and PXI modules. As defined by the PXI specification, the system controller slot of this Chassis is located in slot 1. The star trigger slot (ST) is situated in slot 2 and has a dedicated trigger link between each peripheral slot.

The National Instruments PXI-1000 supplies the PXI_CLK10 (PXI 10 MHz) system clock signal to each peripheral slot independently. The user can also drive PXI_CLK10 through an external slot via the PXI_CLK10_IN pin. This Chassis comes with a fan speed selector switch located on the rear panel that can be used for switching the cooling effectiveness between HI and LO.

PXI-1000 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
