National Instruments 782920-00 PXI Controller 

National Instruments part number 782920-00 is an identifying part number for the PXIe-8820, a Dual-Core Processor PXI Controller. The NI 782920-00 is a 2.2 GHz Dual-Core Processor PXI Controller without any pre-installed Operating System. Suitable for test and measurement, data collecting, and industrial control, it is meant to produce a small and portable PC-based platform. The 782920-00 features a 10/100/1000 BASE-TX (Gigabit) Ethernet port, four Hi-Speed USB ports, an integrated hard drive, a serial port, and various other peripheral I/O connections. 

The National Instruments 782920-00 Controller comes with standard I/O features such as a DisplayPort, an RS-232 serial port, a Gigabit Ethernet connector, and a parallel port. It also has battery-backed, dedicated memory for storing system CMOS. This PXI controller is a modular PC in a 3U form factor. The front panel of the NI 782920-00 includes an SMB connector, which facilitates communication between the controller and any PXI backplane trigger line. The amount of installed RAM can be increased by upgrading the SO-DIMM. 

This model supports Windows 7 installation via a USB device (CD/DVD-ROM) and can also use a PXI-SCSI adapter for OS installation through an external SCSI CD-ROM. Similar to any other Windows-based personal computer, the 782920-00 supports various boot options, including PXE servers, USB, PCI, or PCIe-based devices. Although this embedded controller lacks PS/2 ports, users can connect PS/2 input devices using a USB Y-splitter cable. It is equipped with a dual-core Intel® Celeron® 1020E processor running at 2.2 GHz, with 2 MB cache and a Single Channel DDR3, 1333 MHz memory controller. Additionally, it includes integrated hard drive storage.
