The National Instruments 783813-01 (PXIe-8880) is an 8-core PXI Express embedded controller designed for high-performance automated test, data acquisition, and signal processing applications. Powered by an Intel Xeon E5-2618L v3 processor running at 2.3 GHz (up to 3.4 GHz with Turbo Boost), the controller delivers up to 24 GB/s of total system bandwidth. The unit comes equipped with 8 GB of standard DDR4 memory (expandable to 24 GB) and a 240 GB solid-state drive (SSD), offering high data throughput and fast access times for storage-heavy test sequences.

Front-panel connectivity features two Gigabit Ethernet ports for network integration, two USB 3.0 ports, and four USB 2.0 ports for connecting external instruments and high-speed peripherals. Hardware-based data protection is supported via an onboard Trusted Platform Module (TPM 1.2). The controller operates across standard PXI Express voltage rails, drawing up to 2.96 A at +3.3 V (2.24 A typical), 3.11 A at +5 V (2.44 A typical), and 8.7 A at +12 V (6.5 A typical).

Designed as a 4-slot 3U PXI Express module (requiring one system slot and three controller expansion slots), the 1.5 kg (3.4 lb) assembly complies fully with PXI Express Specification 1.0. It operates across ambient temperatures from 0 °C to 50 °C and 10% to 90% non-condensing relative humidity at altitudes up to 2,000 meters. Built to withstand industrial handling, its storage specifications meet MIL-PRF-28800F Class 3 durability limits (-40 °C to 71 °C storage range), making it a reliable processing foundation for complex test systems.
