National Instruments 778572-43 PXI RF Multiplexer Switch Module

The National Instruments 778572-43 is a Dual 4x1 PXI RF Multiplexer Switch Module. It is also identified as the PXI-2543 and is designed for signal routing in RF testing. It features a FET switch type relay that ensures unlimited lifetime and rapid switching times. The switch offers a bandwidth of 6.6 GHz that makes it suitable for high-frequency applications. Each COM line and channel is terminated to optimize the signal integrity and reduce reflections.

The 778572-43 module has an input frequency range starting from 10 MHz along with a characteristic impedance of 50 Ω nominal and AC coupling. It safely handles a DC input voltage of ±8 V and can manage continuous RF power of +30 dBm when the chassis is powered on, and +20 dBm when off. Its RF performance is top-notch and the insertion loss metrics vary according to the switch bandwidth. If the bandwidth is 2.4 GHz than the insertion loss is less than 4.1 dB and similarly it is under 5.8 dB up to 6 GHz, and below 7.0 dB up to 6.6 GHz. The voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) ensures low signal reflection with typical values of 1.5 up to 6 GHz. The channel-to-channel isolation in NI 778572-43 typically exceeds to 90 dB till 2.4 GHz and above 74 dB up to 6 GHz. Bank-to-bank crosstalk is impressively low at -90 dB. The module features a fast switching operation time of 76 μs and supports PXI trigger lines for both input and output. The minimum pulse width for input trigger is 150 ns.

The NI 778572-43 unit has 10 SMA jacks for I/O connections and 2 SMB jacks for triggers. It operates efficiently within a temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C and withstands storage conditions from -20 °C to 70 °C. It is designed to endure operational shocks of up to 30 g peak and random vibrations in both operating and non-operating states. This 778572-43 RF multiplexer switch module complies with safety standards like IEC 61010-1 and UL 61010-1. Its electromagnetic compatibility is certified under standards such as EN 61326-1 and FCC Part 15B.
