National Instruments PXIe-4154 PXI Programmable Power Supply

The PXIe-4154 (Part Number: 781155-01, 195709C-01L) is a Programmable Power Supply for battery test systems. It is intended to recreate the transient behavior of a lithium-ion battery cell, output resistance, and 2-quadrant operation (source/sink). As it is essential in numerous RF and remote applications, the test system's fast transient response time enables it to react rapidly to changes in load current with minimal voltage drop, which makes the NI PXIe-4154 perfect for controlling devices under test (DUT), such as RF power amplifiers, phones, and an assortment of mobile devices. To make the behavior of a battery more precise, the user can utilize the programmable output resistance to simulate the internal resistance of the battery. For idle current and standby estimations, the PXIe-4154 has integrated current measurement.

The NI PXIe-4154 Programmable Power Supply highlights integrated current measurement with down to 1 μA sensitivity. This model also offers a supplemental 8 V, 1.5 A charger simulator channel for power management ICs, alongside the battery simulator channel. The two channels on the PXIe-4154 incorporate voltage and current read-back with up to 200 kS/s continuous acquisition rates, which is perfect for characterizing transient behavior. The user can also sequence and trigger outputs and measurements by means of the PXI backplane for synchronization with digital I/O and RF instrumentation.

This model offers a 6 V, 3 A, 2-quadrant battery simulator channel, an ultrafast transient response of <20 μs, 200 kS/s of continuous waveform acquisition of voltage and current, 1 μA of measurement sensitivity for standby currents, and an additional 8 V, 1.5 A charger simulator channel.
