PXI Digital Waveform Instrument (780992-01) from National Instruments is a member of the PXIe-6544 Model series. It is intended to interact with 32 single-ended digital pins and functions as a digital waveform generator and analyzer. It makes interfacing with standard transistor-to-transistor logic (TTL) voltage levels easier by allowing it to sample digital waveforms at up to 100 MHz. Because of its advanced synchronization requirements, this instrument can be used to develop integrated mixed-signal test systems.
The 780992-01 provides accurate operation suited to particular requirements with its 32 single data rate (SDR) channels, each of which has direction control. Four channels with per-channel direction control make up its programmable function interface (PFI), which increases operational flexibility.
The device has several sample clock sources for accurate timing, including an inbuilt 800 MHz VCO with 32-bit DDS, CLK IN through a SMA jack connector, and STROBE through an acquisition-based Digital Data & Control (DDC) connector. The frequency range spans from 100 Hz to 100 MHz to accommodate a variety of application needs.
Two inputs and two outputs are included in clock terminals to ensure compatibility and adaptability to a variety of settings. The inbuilt clock properties of the instrument, including resolution, accuracy, aging, and frequency accuracy, are tuned for long-term dependability.
The 780992-01 offers smooth configuration, control, and calibration due to its software compatibility with NI-HSDIO driver software. APIs for widely used development environments, including Microsoft Visual C/C++, LabVIEW, LabWindowsTM/CVITM, Measurement Studio, and.NET (C# and VB.NET), are provided by this driver. To further ease setup and operation, NI Measurement Automation Explorer (MAX) provides interactive configuration and test tools.
The instrument guarantees external device synchronization with its exported sample clock destinations, which include DDC CLK OUT and CLK OUT. To satisfy the demands of high-performance applications, the exported sample clock delay and jitter are tuned for exact timing requirements.
