The NI PXI-8119 RT (Part Number: 782555-33) is a high-performing Embedded Controller with an Intel Core i7-3610QE, designed for PXI systems. This controller is suitable for DAQ applications and processor-intensive modular instrumentation. The user has the option to create their application on the NI LabVIEW Real-Time Module on Windows, then download the program to their PXI-8119 RT through Ethernet. The embedded code performs on a real-time OS, so the user can utilize the versatile tools of LabVIEW. In addition, the user can designate specific tasks to run on certain cores of the processor or allow the real-time OS to take care of it.
Embedded LabVIEW Real-Time applications will keep running despite the host PC being halted or restarted. This guarantees dependable operation. Since the PXI-8119 RT Embedded Controller runs in an individual chassis with a designated power supply, the user has the power to turn off the host computer completely and will not interrupt the real-time program. Stand-alone operation can also be implemented by embedding code in the system to initiate automatically when the system powers on.
There are two versions of the PXI-8119 RT Embedded Controller, which are meant for varying environmental and usage conditions. The main difference is that the prolonged temperature and 24/7 operation version utilizes a different hard drive, created for dependability in low and high temperatures. The operating temperature ranges from 0 ° C to 55 ° C. On the other hand, the standard version has a smaller operating temperature from 5 ° C to 50 ° C.
