National Instruments SCXI-1191 Multiplexer Module
The SCXI-1191 Multiplexer Module utilizes single-pole double-throw, high-bandwidth relays which can switch signals from DC to 4 GHz bandwidth. This module has a maximum rated switch voltage of 30 V and a maximum rated current of 0.33 A at 30 V. The NI SCXI-1191 can only operate in multiplexed mode.
This Multiplexer Module can be joined to a DAQ device in a PXI combination chassis like the PXI-1010 or PXI-1011. To accomplish this, a PXI combination chassis with the SCXI modules installed and a PXI MIO DAQ device or a computer-based device that can control SCXI in the farthest right slot of the PXI part of the combination chassis, are both needed. PXI combination chassis can utilize SCXI and PXI modules simultaneously. No external cabling is required to join a PXI multifunction I/O module to the SCXI bus since the link between the SCXI backplane and the PXI backplane is accomplished via a local bus interface to a PXI multifunction I/O module inserted in the farthest right slot.
If the user wants to remove the NI SCXI-1191 from Measurement & Automation Explorer, they can firstly click twice on the Measurement & Automation Explorer icon on their PC. Then, expand Devices and Interfaces and find the chassis in the list of devices. Select expand chassis. Next, right-click on the module or chassis to be deleted and click Delete. Lastly, the user can click Yes to confirm deletion or click No if they do not wish to remove the device. However, keep in mind that if the user erases an SCXI chassis, it will also remove the modules in the chassis. The configuration details for the modules will additionally be erased.
SCXI-1191 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
