National Instruments 780689-02 PXI FlexRay Interface Module

Part Number 780689-02 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments PXI-8517 PXI FlexRay Interface Module. The 780689-02 uses two NXP TJA1080 transceivers for communication and supports baud rates from a minimum of 1 Mbps to a maximum of 10 Mbps. Likewise, it also features a Real-Time Integration System that has 7 trigger I/O lines and a single clock line. Furthermore, it features 2 Front Panel Sync connectors and all the I/O lines are compatible with the TTL standard, which typically means that it supports voltage levels from 0 V to 5 V. SMB jacks are used as sync connectors whereas a 9-pin male D-SUB connector is used for I/O connection. 

The lines in the 780689-02 remain in a high impedance state during the power-on state. The module responds to rising edge triggers which means the change from a low voltage (0) to a high voltage (1). Likewise, it  draws a current of 210 mA at +5 VDC (±5%) and 940 mA at +3.3 VDC (±5%). The module measures 4.2 in. x 6.6 in. in physical dimensions and weighs 102 g. 

The 780689-02 is recommended for operation between temperatures of 0 °C to 55 °C with a relative humidity of 10% to 90%. On the other hand, it can be stored between a wider temperature range of –20 °C to 70 °C at a relative humidity of 5% to 95%. Also, note that the device is intended for indoor use only and may require mounting inside a closed enclosure for outdoor use. Furthermore, the device should be used within a maximum altitude of 2000m at 25 °C ambient temperature. The device meets the requirements of the following safety standards: IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 61010-1, and CSA 61010-1.

The isolation voltage (port-to-port ground and port-to-earth ground) on the 780689-02 is 60 VDC and falls under Measurement Category II. Note that the isolation is intended to protect against ground loops. This means the module should not be connected to signals falling in Measurement Categories II, III, or IV.
