The National Instruments 782002-01 (VXI-8360LT) is a remote control module designed to extend VXI systems across multiple physical locations. The module conforms to the VXIbus Mainframe Extender Specification (VXI-6) and fits into a single VXI C-size slot. It is primarily used for interconnecting VXI systems over longer distances while maintaining reliable data transfer and synchronization. The device enables users to bridge VXI systems by linking them with a wired backplane trigger bus that allows for coordinated events between different systems.
The 782002-01 has the ability to support up to eight TTL backplane triggers. This allows the module to effectively synchronize events across multiple VXI systems through the front-panel trigger connectors. The EXT CLK connector provides a 50-ohm source-terminated output. The TRIG IN and TRIG OUT connectors facilitate the input and output of trigger signals. This ensures smooth communication between devices within the system.
