National Instruments VXI-SC-1000 Carrier Module

The VXI-SC-1000 is an advanced Carrier Module. The NI VXI-SC-1000 has been designed and launched by National Instruments. The VXI-SC-1000 is designed to provide an interface between two independent VXI-SC submodules. This Carrier Module offers two types of interfaces between VXI signal conditioning modules: a serial peripheral interface and VXI interface. The VXI-SC-1000 module, along with interfaced VXI-SC submodules, offers compatibility for signal conditioning of several types of sensors and components. Some of which are strain gauges, current-loop receivers, thermocouples, voltage sources, RTDs, and thermistors.  

This Carrier Module does not operate independently. This module is an important part of a VXI SC system. The VXIbus chassis incorporates a slot where the VXI-SC-1000 module is installed. The National Instruments VXI-SC-1000 is interfaced with one or two signal conditioning modules. The NI VXI-SC-1000 is equipped with sub-slots to house VXI-SC modules. The VXI-SC-1000 comes with filler panels which are pre-installed in slots where VXI-SC modules can be installed. When only one signal conditioning module is needed, the remaining slots are covered with filler panels instead of leaving them open.  

The VXI-SC-1000 needs a VXI-MIO module to work with the VXI-SC submodule. The VXI-MIO module is the main controller of the NI VXI-SC-1000 and its components. The VXI-MIO module is linked with the National Instruments VXI-SC-1000 module using a VXI Local bus. An external SCXI chassis can also be controlled through the VXI-MIO module. The external SCXI can be interfaced with the VXI-MIO module through the front panel connector. The VXI-MIO module is capable of controlling several VXI-SC-1000 modules.

VXI-SC-1000 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
