Pickering 40-882A-001 RF Multiplexer
Pickering’s 40-882A-001 is designed to function as a single-slot PXI RF multiplexer for use in large-scale, highly sophisticated automated test and measurement systems. This device is a 4-to-1 single pole four throw (SP4T) switch that operates over the 50-ohm impedance with an operating frequency range of 10 MHz through 8 GHz. One of the most significant features of this device is the built-in automatic termination of unused channels. This feature aids in maintaining signal quality by preventing reflections throughout the large-scale RF switching networks.
The 40-882A-001 multiplexer employs solid-state switching, thus providing fast switching time and very durable operation with no mechanical degradation. This product can also manage high power inputs and will support both CW (+36 dBm) and pulsed (+38 dBm) inputs at the same time. Performance specifications of this multiplexer include less than 5 dB insertion loss up to 6 GHz and better than 50 dB isolation throughout its entire frequency band. These performance parameters are essential in applications requiring many different frequencies to be switched rapidly.
Primarily used in aerospace, defense, and telecommunications Automated Test Equipment (ATE), the 40-882A-001 is used to route RF signals between various instruments and devices under test. The design of the multiplexer makes it ideal for production testing, component validation, and multi-channel monitoring systems that require reliable high-frequency switching. The 40-882A-001 is fully compatible with a wide variety of 3U PXI or PXI Express chassis configurations and is easily integrated into a user's current test platform.

Software support for the device includes VISA, IVI, and kernel driver support for Windows and real-time operating systems.
