Pickering 40-260-001 Precision Programmable Resistor Module
The Pickering 40-260-001 Precision Programmable Resistor Module is a three channel PXI resistor solution for automation. It provides precision resistance simulation for industrial automation test systems and hardware in the loop platforms by combining high resolution resistance settings with excellent accuracy for advanced sensor emulation tasks. Each Pickering 40-260-001 channel offers a programmable range from 90 ohms to 8000 ohms resistance values. The resistance range includes selectable open circuit and short circuit states for fault injection applications. It provides resolution more than 0.10 ohms with continuous coverage. This module achieves a basic accuracy of 0.1% before external calibration while accuracy can be improved using the calibration port and an external digital multimeter that supports 4 wire measurements. Thermo electric electromotive forces are minimized to a few microvolts across the full supported resistance range.
The 40-260-001 module supports differential input voltages up to 15 V and common mode reference can be 0 V, +12 V, -12 V or external source. Its external common mode voltages are up to 50 V for specified power rating. The unit’s maximum power dissipation is 100 mW which supports representative sensor loads in automation systems and equipment. Its channel presents an open circuit condition when system power is removed to protect connected equipment. Typical switching time is 3 ms and mechanical life exceeds 100 million operations at 10 mA. This programmable resistor module fits a single slot three-unit PXI or CompactPCI chassis and uses a standard backplane interface. It is compatible with hybrid PXI Express slots and can also operate in Pickering modular LXI chassis. Front panel connections use fifteen pin and nine pin male D type connectors for channels and calibration. It is designed for industrial environments where robust performance is required during continuous automated testing and validation.

The 40-260-001 resistor module supports industry standard driver interfaces including VISA IVI and kernel level support under Microsoft Windows platforms.
