RADX Technologies PXIe-GPU-T1000-8GB Catalyst PXIe-GPU Module
The PXIe-GPU-T1000-8GB manufactured by RADX Technologies is a high-performance PXIe peripheral module from the Catalyst PXIe-GPU family of products. This commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) card integrates a professional graphics processing unit (the NVIDIA Turing-based Quadro T1000) in order to bring easy-to-program GPU acceleration directly into a wide variety of PXIe test and measurement environments. The powerful GPU employed by this module offers a compute performance that is 10 to 200 times faster than CPUs or FPGAs, eliminating the need for separate/external GPU servers. Equipped with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus, the PXIe-GPU-T1000-8GB features a bandwidth of 160 GB/Sec. It is an excellent choice for a wide range of real-time applications including video, signal, and image processing.
One of the standout features of this PXIe-GPU module are the built-in hardware codecs, which include a single Gen 6 NVENC encoder and a single Gen 4 NVDEC decoder. The four Mini DisplayPort 1.4a interfaces have support for HDMI 2.1, which is capable of driving displays up to 4K resolution at 120Hz or up to 8K resolution at 60Hz. The interface of the module is a PXIe Gen 3 x8, and it has a PCIe Gen 3 x16 interface onboard. Since it is powered by 896 CUDA GPU cores, the PXIe-GPU-T1000-8GB is capable of delivering 2.5 FP32 TFLOPS of compute performance.
This Catalyst PXIe-GPU module is compatible with the operating systems of Windows 10, Windows 11, Desktop Linux, and NI RT Linux via G2CPU. In fact, this device helps to resolve security issues within Windows 11 that are caused by EOL (end-of-life) integrated GPUs that are in embedded controllers.
The PXIe-GPU-T1000-8GB only requires a single PXIe slot with a maximum power of 50W/slot, though this can be programmed down to 40W with software. The module utilizes an active module thermal solution of a NVIDIA fan sink that requires 152 LFM of air flow.
The physical dimensions of this module are 100 mm x 160 mm x 20.32 mm (3.94 in x 6.30 in x 0.80 in), and it weighs a mere 0.4 kg (0.7 lbs). It should only be operated in environments where the temperature ranges from 0 °C to 55 °C with a noncondensing humidity of 10% to 90%. When not being used, the Catalyst PXIe-GPU module may be kept in storage conditions where the temperature range is -40 °C to 85 °C.
