Keysight/Agilent P9242A Streamline Series USB Oscilloscope
The Keysight P9242A is a Streamline Series USB oscilloscope for precise signal analysis in industrial environments. It provides a bandwidth of 500 MHz and a maximum sample rate of 5 GSa/s. Its USB interface makes it a compact and portable instrument suited for both field and bench use. The model achieves a waveform update rate of 1,000,000 wfms/s for capture of fast and transient signal events. The half-channel interleaved operation supports a sample rate of 5 GSa/s, while the all-channel mode runs at 2.5 GSa/s. The maximum record length is 4 Mpts on half channels and 2 Mpts across all active analog channels.
The Keysight USB oscilloscope offers five acquisition modes to address a range of signal capture and measurement requirements. The normal mode is the default acquisition setting for standard signal observation in general-purpose test environments. The peak detect mode reliably captures glitches as narrow as 250 ps across all time base settings. The averaging mode is selectable from 2 to 65,536 counts to reduce noise in repetitive signal measurements. The trigger system of the Keysight P9242A oscilloscope accommodates multiple input sources to support configurable and flexible acquisitions. The sources include analog channels 1 and 2, an external input, and a WaveGen channel supporting FM and FSK. The holdoff range extends from 40 ns to 10.00 s, providing precise control over sequential trigger timing.
The trigger coupling on the model includes DC, AC, HF reject, LF reject, and noise reject options. The AC coupling operates with an internal cutoff below 10 Hz and an external cutoff below 50 Hz. Both HF reject and LF reject modes each provide a cutoff frequency of approximately 50 kHz. The noise reject mode reduces trigger sensitivity by 2x to suppress false triggering in electrically noisy environments. The pre-trigger time base accuracy of the Keysight USB oscilloscope is ± 1.6 ppm, combined with a defined aging factor over the instrument's service life.
