National Instruments 783690-01 Oscilloscope
The National Instruments 783690-01 is a versatile 4 channel oscilloscope designed for high density PXI systems. It is also known as the PXIe-5170R. The module utilizes an onboard VCXO with a timebase accuracy of ± 25 ppm when phase locked to the internal clock for synchronization and clocking. The device also supports external clock sources through the AUX I/O connector that can be used for both sample and reference clocks. The oscilloscope is housed in a compact 3U PXI Express Gen 2 x8 module with dimensions of 18.5 cm × 2.0 cm × 13.0 cm.
The 783690-01 offers four simultaneously sampled analog input channels with each accessible via SMA connectors on the front panel. The input impedance is standardized at 50 Ω along with AC and DC coupling options that provide flexibility for various signal types. The oscilloscope supports a broad voltage range from 0.2 V to 5 V peak to peak and offers a maximum bandwidth of 100 MHz. The 783690-01 model is equipped with deep onboard memory which enables extensive data storage during acquisition.
This 4-channel oscilloscope also includes a range of triggering modes, such as edge, window and digital triggers that are crucial for capturing specific events within a signal. These triggers can be configured using the NI SCOPE API or instrument design libraries. The module integrates a Xilinx Kintex 7 325T FPGA which is programmable for custom acquisition and signal processing tasks. This FPGA provides substantial resources including 407,600 slice registers and 890 block RAMs. The programmable FPGA allows users to create tailored solutions for specific applications.
The NI 783690-01 operates within a temperature range of 0 °C to 40 °C. The module must be stored within a temperature range of - 40 °C to 71 °C. The model can be installed at a maximum height of 2000 m without degrading the performance. The operating zone must not have a pollution degree of more than 2. The model has a shock resistance of up to 30 g peak and vibration resistance of up to 2.4 g. The power consumption of the oscilloscope is moderate with a total typical power draw of 20.5 W.
