Tektronix TDS1002B Digital Storage Oscilloscope
The Tektronix TDS1002B digital storage oscilloscope is an industrial automation measurement instrument that provides 60 MHz bandwidth and 2 analog channels for monitoring automation signals. It offers a real time sampling rate of 1 G sample/second on each channel. A record length of 2500 points is maintained at all time base settings. The TDS1002B digital storage oscilloscope supports time bases from 5 ns to 50 s per division. Its time base accuracy of 50 parts per million ensures reliable timing correlation between multiple process control signals. The unit’s vertical sensitivity ranges from 2 mV to 5 V per division with calibrated adjustment. Its 8-bit vertical resolution enables detailed inspection of low-level control feedback and actuator drive waveforms.
Input impedance of this TDS1002B oscilloscope is 1 M ohm in parallel with 20 pF to support standard industrial probe configurations. Its maximum rated input is 300 V root mean square with category 2 installation rating for safety. This rating derates above 100000 Hz to 13 V peak to peak at 3 MHz. The unit’s selectable bandwidth limit is 20 MHz that reduces high frequency noise during analysis of slower industrial transducer outputs. The TDS1002B provides acquisition modes for sample peak detect average and single sequence capture. Its peak detect mode captures narrow glitches down to 12 ns across the specified time base range. Average mode supports selectable counts of 4, 16, 64 or 128 acquisitions. The unit’s roll mode operates when the time base exceeds 100 ms/division. Advanced triggering on this oscilloscope includes edge triggering with multiple coupling selections for versatility. Its pulse width triggering supports qualification on pulses shorter longer equal or unequal to user defined durations. The unit’s features line selectable video triggering to accommodate composite video maintenance tasks that appear in some automation monitoring systems.
Its display functionality uses a quarter VGA monochrome liquid crystal display with selectable dots or vectors presentation. Its waveforms may be viewed in standard YT mode or XY mode for transfer characteristic evaluation. Persistence options include off 1 second, 2 seconds, 5 seconds or infinite for reviewing intermittent behavior. Connectivity on TDS1002B Digital Storage Oscilloscope includes a front panel USB host supporting flash drive storage. Its rear USB device interface enables communication to a personal computer and PictBridge compatible printers. The unit’s internal nonvolatile storage retains two reference waveforms ten instrument setups and supports waveform recall during commissioning.
