Tektronix TDS2024C Digital Oscilloscope

The Tektronix TDS2024C is a four-channel digital storage oscilloscope designed to perform high-level analytical evaluation of electronic signal behavior in very aggressive and demanding industrial applications. The oscilloscope features a maximum bandwidth of 200 MHz as well as a simultaneous sampling rate of 2 GS/s per channel; both characteristics are necessary to accurately record fast transients and interaction between multiple channels of signals. As the ability to observe multiple signals simultaneously is crucial when diagnosing problems associated with complex, time-critical control systems (i.e., programmable logic controllers, power electronics, etc.), this characteristic is absolutely required for successful system diagnosis.

In addition to enabling the measurement of signals via sixteen pre-programmed, automatic measurements, the oscilloscope allows engineers to measure such quantities as frequency, rise time, and pulse width in real time. In addition to measuring these quantities in real-time, the oscilloscope includes advanced triggering capabilities, i.e., pulse-width and video triggering, that enable engineers to rapidly identify unique signal anomalies. A built-in Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) function enables the oscilloscope to provide engineers with frequency domain analysis, which is necessary to identify noise issues or resonant frequencies in motor drives and power supplies. The oscilloscope also includes a built-in limit test capability that enables engineers to automatically verify the quality of a given live signal by comparing it to a user-defined template and then outputs a "pass" or "fail" based upon whether or not the live signal matches the defined template. The use of the limit test capability in combination with the oscilloscope's ability to save captured waveforms and/or screenshots of waveforms via a variety of methods (e.g., flash memory, etc.) makes the TDS2024C a useful tool for performing both preventative maintenance and production testing.

The TDS2024C oscilloscope was designed around connectivity and data handling to create a fast and easy way to integrate your workflow. There is a front panel USB host port on this oscilloscope that will allow you to immediately save your screenshot, waveform data, and oscilloscope settings directly to a flash drive. The oscilloscope also has a data logging capability that can store thousands of triggered waveforms as long as it has power for periods of time ranging from 1 second to 24 hours (or until the memory on the oscilloscope is full). The oscilloscope is a compact, lightweight unit with a multi-language interface and is suitable as a versatile, rugged solution for the industrial automation engineer who needs to develop systems, troubleshoot systems, and validate systems.
