Tektronix TDS794D Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope
Tektronix's TDS794D is a high-frequency DPO designed for the most challenging applications of electronic circuit design and debug. It captures the dynamic behavior of signals by capturing signal information in the three dimensions of amplitude, time, and amplitude-over-time distribution, providing real-time access to the behavior of complex signals, which are lost on all other oscilloscope types. As such, with its 2 GHz bandwidth and sample rate of 4 GS/s, this DPO is ideally suited for the acquisition of high-frequency digital signals, communication systems, signal integrity in advanced R&D environments, and many others.
In addition to the ability to measure signals from either two or four channels, the TDS794D has excellent measurement precision and achieves 1% vertical accuracy. Furthermore, through the use of "Hi-Res" Mode, the 8-bit vertical resolution can be increased to greater than 13 bits and allows for the close observation of minute changes in the signal being measured. The TDS794D also has some of the largest record lengths available at 8 million points and, with optional memory, eliminates the need to sacrifice detail when capturing long-duration signals. In addition, the advanced triggering capabilities of the TDS794D include Glitch, Pulse Width, Slew Rate, etc., to allow designers to quickly capture hard-to-find events. Also included for Communications System Analysis are mask testing and optical reference receivers for standards such as SONET/SDH and Fibre Channel to ensure compliance and validate performance.
Automation engineers will find the workflow greatly simplified with the TDS794D, as it provides an intuitive user interface with color display and over 200 graphical icons to simplify setup and operation. Statistical analysis and performance verification are also possible with automated measurements, waveform histograms, and limit testing. Data storage, transfer and Integration into automated test systems are also simple with the built-in floppy disk drive, GPIB programmability and Iomega Zip Drive compatibility. Overall, the TDS794D Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope is a complete solution for characterizing high-speed signals, troubleshooting complex embedded systems and validating the reliability of electronic designs in manufacturing and quality assurance.
