TDK Lambda GEN20-38 Programmable DC Power Supply
The TDK Lambda GEN20-38 is a rack-mount, single-output, programmable DC power supply for industrial automation. It features a 20 Vdc rated output voltage with a continuously programmable range from 0 to 20 Vdc. The model supports a rated output current of 38 A and a total rated output power of 760 W. The voltage ripple noise measures 0.008 Vrms and current ripple noise is 0.076 Arms from 5 Hz to 1 MHz.
The GEN20-38 measures 422.8 mm wide and 432.8 mm deep with a chassis height of 43.6 mm. The unit has a typical weight of 7000 g and an operating temperature range of 0 to 50°C. It achieves a typical power conversion efficiency of 85 percent at rated output. The unit accepts a wide range of AC input from 85 to 265 VAC at 47 Hz or 63 Hz line frequencies.
An integrated active power factor correction achieves a typical power factor of 0.99 at full rated load. The AC input of the power supply uses an IEC320 connector for 750 W. Analog programming and monitoring are performed through a rear panel DB25 female connector on the power supply. The rear panel DIP switches configure the 0 – 5 V or 0 – 10 V programming and monitoring signal ranges for all channels.
The output voltage programming accepts a user-selectable 0 to 5 V or 0 to 10 V analog input signal. The voltage programming accuracy and linearity are rated within ± 0.5 percent of the full rated output voltage. The output current programming via analog voltage achieves accuracy and linearity within ± 1 percent of rated Iout. The model supports remote and local mode switching via electrical signal or contact input.
The GEN20-38 Programmable DC Power Supply includes RS-232 and RS-485 as standard interfaces for remote digital programming operations. The optional interface additions available include LAN with LXI compliance, USB, GPIB, and isolated analog control options. A 0 V output on the OK signal line indicates a fault condition within the power supply circuit. The model supports daisy-chain networking through its RS-485 OUT port for multi-unit systems.
