TDK Lambda GEN40-38 Programmable DC Power Supply
The TDK Lambda GEN40-38 power supply delivers a rated output voltage of 40 Vdc with a maximum rated output current of 38 A. The model provides a total rated output power of 1520 W across its complete programmable operating range. Both output voltage and output current are fully programmable from zero to their respective rated maximums.
The GEN40-38 DC power supply complies with EN61000-3-2 Class A and EN61000-3-3 at 20 to 100% of output power. The power hold-up time exceeds 20 milliseconds measured at 100 Vac under full-rated load conditions. It supports parallel operation of up to four units connected and configured in master/slave mode. A single-wire current balance connection manages the current sharing process effectively across all parallel-connected units.
The GEN40-38 accepts single-phase AC input across a wide universal voltage range of 85 to 265 VAC. It operates across an input frequency range of 47 to 63 Hz without requiring any manual switching or reconfiguration. The power factor of the power supply is specified at 0.99 at both 100 Vac and 200 Vac. The unit draws 21 A at 100 Vac and 11 A at 200 Vac input currents. The programmable DC power supply is housed in a compact 1U rack mount and benchtop-compatible enclosure. Its overall dimensions measure 422.8 mm in width, 43.6 mm in height, and 432.8 mm in depth. The DC power supply weighs approximately 8500 g typically and is compatible with standard 19-inch industrial rack enclosures. The built-in communication interfaces on the unit include RS-232 and RS-485 that enable serial control and remote system monitoring. The optional interface upgrades for the power supply include LAN with LXI compliance, USB, and GPIB.
The GEN40-38 DC power supply achieves a typical power conversion efficiency of 88% measured at full rated output power. The voltage ripple noise is measured and specified at 0.008 Vrms across a bandwidth spanning 5 Hz to 1 MHz. The current ripple noise of the model is specified at 0.095 Arms across the same 5 Hz to 1 MHz frequency bandwidth.
