TDK Lambda LNS-P-28 Regulated Power Supply
The TDK Lambda LNS-P-28 DC power supply model delivers a maximum current of 8.0 amps at an ambient temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. This current rating falls to 7.1 amps at 50 degrees and 6.0 amps at 60 degrees. At the highest ambient of 71 degrees Celsius, the model supplies a maximum of 4.5 amps. The power supply has a rated input power consumption of 440 watts at full load. This input power rating remains constant across its specified voltage and current range and it receives its AC input through screw terminals on the circuit board.
The LNS-P-28 supports remote programming via an external resistor rated at 200 ohms per volt. The remote programming voltage on the model follows a one to one voltage change ratio. This feature allows the output voltage to be adjusted from a remote location. The remote sensing terminals on the model are provided as screw terminals on the circuit board. This sensing function eliminates the effect of output lead resistance on DC regulation. The devicce produces no overshoot during turn on turn off or power failure conditions. The thermal overload protection on the Regulated Power Supply uses a thermostat that resets automatically once the overheating clears. An automatic electronic current limiting circuit is the basis for the supply's electrical overload prevention. When there are direct shorts or external overloads, this circuit restricts the output current to a safe level. The printed circuit board is equipped with 8–32 studs for the model's DC output connections.
The line regulation of the LNS-P-28 stays within 0.1 percent for input changes from 105 to 127 volts. The same regulation level applies for input variations between 210 and 254 volts AC. The load regulation on the model also remains within 0.1 percent across the full load range. The output ripple and noise on the power supply measures 1.5 millivolts rms and 5 millivolts peak to peak. This specification applies regardless of whether the positive or negative terminal is grounded. The temperature coefficient of the power supply’s output voltage is rated at 0.03 percent per degree Celsius.
