TDK Lambda PFE1000FA-28 AC-DC Power Module
The TDK Lambda PFE1000FA-28 is a 1008 W conduction cooled AC-DC power module designed for industrial automation systems. It delivers a nominal 28 V DC output with a wide adjustable range extending from 22.4 V to 33.6 V. The model supports a maximum continuous output current of 36 A under full rated power load conditions. The switching at 230 kHz ensures stable and efficient power conversion throughout the entire operating range.
The typical efficiency of the module is rated at 87 % at 115 Vac and 89.5 % at 230 Vac under standard operating conditions. The model’s input current consumption typically measures 10.8 A at 115 Vac and 5.3 A at 230 Vac during normal operation. The power factor exceeds 0.95 at both 100 Vac and 200 Vac input levels minimizing reactive current draw. The hold up time for the model is rated at 20 ms at 110/220Vac input sustaining the output during brief AC supply interruptions.
Overcurrent protection is offered by the AC-DC Power Module between 105% and 140% of the rated output. This module's recovery from an overcurrent event necessitates cycling the AC input to completely reset protection. To protect linked load circuits, the overvoltage protection turns on between 125% and 145% of the nominal output voltage. When the baseplate temperature rises over safe operating limits, the incorporated overtemperature protection automatically turns off the module.
The line and load regulation of the module for the 28 V output is tightly specified at 56 mV that ensures consistent output voltage delivery. The output ripple and noise is rated at 280 mV providing acceptably clean power for connected industrial loads. The remote sense compensates for distribution losses while remote on/off uses a logic high signal to enable output. The PFE1000FA-28 AC-DC Power Module is rated for operation from – 40 °C to + 100 °C measured at the baseplate. The non condensing operating humidity for the module is specified between 20 % RH and 95 % RH for broad environmental compatibility. The altitude performance extends to 3048 meters above sea level without any requirement for performance derating. The module withstands non operating vibration from 10 to 55Hz at a constant amplitude of 0.825 mm per axis.
