TDK Lambda Z10-40 Programmable DC Power Supply
The TDK Lambda Z10-40 Programmable DC Power Supply offers RS232, RS485 and USB as standard integrated communication interfaces for automation systems. The remote on/off control is supported via applied voltage or a dry contact relay with user selectable logic. The DC Good output uses an open collector configuration that signals low upon detecting a supply fault. Up to six Z10-40 units can be connected in parallel to increase output power for larger loads. The power supply supports a fully programmable output current from 0 to 40 A at rated load.
The Z10-40 achieves a typical power conversion efficiency of 82 % under full rated load conditions. The voltage ripple noise is specified at 0.005 Vrms measured across the 5 Hz to 1 MHz frequency range. The current ripple noise is maintained at 0.07 Arms across the same bandwidth for consistent output quality. The power supply is rated for full load operation across an ambient temperature range of 0 to 50 °C. An integrated internal fan manages active thermal cooling with the unit rated to 3000 meters altitude. The ambient temperature derating is required when the model operates at altitudes exceeding 2000 meters.
The programmable DC power supply provides a rated output power of 400 W with a controllable DC output voltage from 0 to 10 Vdc. It accepts a universal AC input voltage from 85 to 265 Vac covering global power standards. An input frequency range of 47 to 63 Hz makes it adaptable to 50 Hz and 60 Hz grid systems. The model has a compact physical form of 70 mm wide, 83 mm high, and 350 mm deep. Its nominal weight of 1900 g makes it practical for installation within rack mounted industrial control panels. The Z10-40 features a four digit front panel display with a readout accuracy of 0.5 % of rated output. The green LEDs indicate active operating modes including CV, CC, OUTPUT, REM, PROT, FINE, MENU and PREV. A red LED activates to flag fault conditions such as OVP, UVP, OTP, FOLD and AC FAIL. These indicators allow operators to identify operating state and fault events without additional monitoring instruments.
