The 81160A Arbitrary Noise Pulse Function Generator by Keysight delivers precision waveform synthesis. The unit supports frequencies between 1 Hz and 500 MHz reliably. The dual-channel architecture enables coupled and uncoupled operations during synchronized signal development across complex electronic platforms. The unit uses 14-bit resolution and 2.5 GSa/s sampling that maintain waveform reliability for simulation procedures consistently.
The modulation modes include FM, AM, PM, PWM, and FSK processing for versatile signal generation requirements. The differential outputs support balanced waveform transmission during sensitive measurements requiring minimized interference. The output amplitude ranges between 50 mVPP and 5 VPP during terminated 50 Ohm operating configurations consistently. The open circuit output operation supports amplitude levels between 100 mVPP and 10 VPP for flexibility.
The voltage window capability of the 81160A Function Generator reaches ±5 V under terminated conditions and ±10 V during open operation configurations. Glitch-free parameter transitions maintain waveform continuity while adjusting delay, frequency transition width, and duty characteristics dynamically. The memory stores 256k samples per channel for extended signal reproduction during repetitive testing cycles continuously. The 81160A Noise Generator produces sine square ramp noise and arbitrary waveforms accurately.
The unit is equipped with a pattern generation option and arbitrary bit shaping operations up to a 330 Mbit/s transmission speed. The improved configuration options boost pattern generation throughput to up to 660 Mbit/s in advanced communication validation procedures. The multi-level signaling supports two-, three-, and four-level waveform structures for protocol-dependent testing applications. Single-channel instruments with extended data sequence generation requirements have a pattern memory capacity of 4 Mbit.
The Sync Out A and Sync Out B connections provide support for routing assignments that can be configured for synchronization requirements. The input signal range is consistent at ±2.5 V full scale during measurements and during the synchronization of the acquired waveforms.
The frequency handling range is from DC to 10 MHz for supported synchronization input configurations, with reliable performance. Selectable impedance configurations give nominal 10 k-Ohm and 50 Ohm operation under different conditions. The unit comes with rear panel BNC connectors that simplify integration within racks. Variable rise and fall timing control can be used to accurately shape pulses.
